Barnack's 35mm camera
a revolution in photography

Since the handling of conventional cameras was still quite laborious and impractical at the beginning of the 20th century, the screw-mount Leica engineered by Oskar Barnack was supposed to turn photography upside down. The new system he developed was revolutionary and 40 years should pass in production before another milestone could be set.

Screw-mount Leicas still delight enthusiasts and purist photographers today.
